Rudy Atencio is a proud member of the LGBTQ community and is running for the U.S. Congress in TX 3rd CD8, (R) (2022). Recently our healthcare has come under attack, but we will fight to make sure that never happens. I have set the standards very high, and will continue to fight for change based in our reach for human sovereignty, free from institutional racism and our struggle for equality until our vision of a more perfect union has been reached. One of our hallmark messages is the Anti-corruption-act, which pushes for term limits, and highly restricts campaign financing practices often overshadows prudent capitalistic practices.
As such this will help serve the agenda of introducing the Anti-Corruption-Act. My political opponents have raised millions in favor of their endorsers not the people. Their coalitions are comprised of mega corporations and oligopolistic interests.
This year alone, 100 billion dollars will be spent on campaigning. Those funds could have saved millions of children, given healthcare to millions, and served millions of military veterans.
Part of our campaign is focused on waking constituents up to the fact that politicians are no longer looking out for the needs and interests of their constituents. They are focused on winning on a "grass roots donation based campaign" with constituents unaware that their needs, will after the election be overshadowed by crony capitalism.
I am focused on an agenda of prudent capitalism and small business interests, in tandem with larger corporations. I have been transparent from the beginning in my objectives. The hybrid means that USAID, and government contracts would go to serve the needs of community based business and level the playing field for all.
We are fighting for equal pay, your healthcare in Texas, and raising the minimum wage. Recently, the U.S House put a bill forward that would have raised the minimum wage, however your representative voted against it, I will make sure you get a raise through a tax subsidized pay increase to your minimum wage so that you can put food on your tables and have enough to put Christmas presents under the tree.
As the chair of the National Democratic Whig Caucus, I am taking on the responsibility of changing the Republican party along from the inside to become a more inclusive party, a big tent party.
Through this campaign the agenda includes fighting for marriage equality, and our border Canal the would increase national security, decrease human trafficking, decrease drug smuggling and would have a direct impact on our opioid crisis. When we dig out the canal, we will expose hundreds of underground networks working against our peace and security interests. The shipping canal will also generate 1.5 trillion dollars in Eurasian trade that will secure all of our Eurasian trade routes.
China is currently building artificial islands in the South Pacific in order to choke the U.S. out of all Eurasian trade. They are also outbidding the U.S. in Panama. Lets show the Chinese that we mean business. The canal lastly will generate a permanent fund dividend PFD, based in resource extraction which will extract the raw materials that will help build a greener infrastructure. The PFD can then be used as a tool to help us pay for healthcare in the future.

The Dream Big America Project, and the proposal for the Great American Shipping Channel (2022)
Has anyone stoped to ask why don't we build big anymore? The shipping channel is a project i am proposing for our border, one that would be built with love and not divisiveness, out of dreamers who dare to envision the American dream. America is a land where the milk and honey, comes from a spirit of inclusion. Can we bring America back together? To send the message that together we can change the world, but we have to DREAM BIG! We are a nation of day dreamers, we dare to dream big, dream big America; have the nerve, the gall, and dare to know. We have the nerve to share our hopes, our dreams, our fears with those showing up for a better life on our shores. Shores of hopes, shores of dreams, shores of a greener and hopeful future. That we are one people, one civilization, one movement. That we are a multicultural patchwork who all belong and strive for that genuine connection and spark that you feel when you meet a newcomer. That out of many we have given rise to one perfect union.
That Love is what will wash away the festering wound of our border crisis. Free love, one that gives rise to the American dream, and that spark you feel when you first meet someone is that spark that leads to life and not death. To loud audacious moves not silence, to liberty and never oppression. That the spirit of Unity is together not separated by walls. Its the spirit of togetherness as one people one voice under one sky, that united we will stand, that a thousand points of light will decorate our skies with dreams shining brighter than any star. That through love persistence and grace our civilization will survive this hiccup in history. God bless you and God bless the United States of America.
TAYLOR SWIFT AND THE EQUALITY ACT
PROTECT MARRIAGE EQUALITY
The rise of the alt-right, and, muscular christianity in america, has left the LGBTQ community vulnerable and open to homophobic attacks, religious intolerance and the revocation of universal human rights. Fight along side us, with the Equality-Act sponsored by Taylor Swift, and the progressive movement. The equality act bases its very founding on the idea that we are all created equal, and as such have the right to culturally engineer a happier and more peaceful multicultural society.
News & Updates
Rudy Atencio, a White Salmon resident who up until very recently was running as a Democrat to represent Washington’s 3rd Congressional District, changed his mind.
He’s now running as a “liberal gay Republican,” he said in a message Wednesday. He’ll instead challenge the incumbent, five-term Republican Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, to serve as the party’s candidate in the upcoming general election.
His announcement clears the (admittedly already pretty clear) path for Carolyn Long, who’s seeking a spot on the general election ballot a second time after giving Herrera Beutler an unprecedentedly close challenge in 2018.
Long is now the only remaining Democrat in the race, upgrading the Washington State University Vancouver professor from “party frontrunner” to “de facto Democrat”

Rudy Atencio, a candidate for Washington’s 3rd Congressional District running an unorthodox campaign out of White Salmon, is kicking it old school. Very old school. We’re talking covered wagons, invention of baseball, Gold Rush-era levels of old school.
In conjunction with two other candidates seeking federal office, Atencio founded a symbolic National Democratic Whig Caucus this week. Atencio is the chair, with Daniel Ross (running to represent New York’s 2nd Congressional District) serving as co-chair and Ryan Blevins (seeking CA-10) as a co-founder.
Remember the Whigs? If nothing else, you probably remember them from your American history textbook. The Whigs were one of two major political parties active in the United States in the mid-19th Century. They emerged in opposition to President Andrew Jackson and were big on enforcing the rule of law, moral restraint, protecting minority interests and rigid Constitutional interpretations. The party collapsed in the 1850s, as pre-Civil War tensions spiked and most members were absorbed into the dominant parties in the North and the South.
White Salmon Democrat Launches ‘Woke 2020’ Campaign
July 31, 2019
Atencio, 42, is a relative newcomer to the political sphere. He told The Reflector during an interview last week that working with White Salmon’s mayor, David Poucher, to come up with a visioning process to address infrastructure needs in the city pushed him to do more.
Born in Houston, Atencio grew up in Venezuela while his father worked as a rancher then seafood producer. He saw firsthand the rise and fall of communism in the county.
WS Democrat enters Primary race
Aug 7, 2019
The field running for Washington’s 3rd Congressional District position in the U.S. House of Representatives grew to four last month with a White Salmon man’s declaration of candidacy.
Rudy Atencio (pictured below) filed July 22 as a Democrat in Washington’s 2020 Top Two Primary Election. Atencio is the third Democrat to announce a bid to unseat incumbent Jaime Herrera Beutler, who’s now seven months into her fifth 2-year term in Congress. The other Democrats in the race are Vancouver residents Carolyn Long, the college political science professor who lost the 2018 General Election to Herrera Beutler, and Peter Khalil, a legal mediator and arbitrator making his first run for the House.
The 42-year-old Atencio, who was born in Texas but grew up in Venezuela, has lived in the 3rd Congressional District for a short time. This is his first run for elective office.
Atencio unorthodox 3rd District congressional candidate
July 24, 2019
White Salmon resident Rudy Atencio is running for Congress in Washington’s 3rd District.
The 42-year-old Democrat’s campaign has so far proven unorthodox in his quest for the seat currently held by Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground.
He’s been quietly running since February, when he launched a campaign Twitter account that originally promoted the Whig party. Atencio, a member of the LGBTQ community, said he’s conducted most his of in-person campaigning so far from Portland gay bars frequented by Vancouver residents.
